Egg Donation<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Egg donation<\/strong> is applied in cases where a woman\u2019s ovarian reserve is depleted and retrieving oocytes<\/a> that could lead to embryo creation and subsequent pregnancy is impossible. Egg donation success rates are high since all eggs are harvested from young, healthy ladies<\/strong>, who meet our strong inclusion criteria and undergo thorough, extensive screening prior to their donation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Greek Law, egg donation in Greece is anonymous and altruistic<\/strong>. Donor anonymity is forever protected by law. Even when a donor-conceived child reaches 18 years of age, the donor\u2019s identity is under no circumstances revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bThe oocytes of the donor will be fertilised by the sperm of your male partner and the embryos will be cultured in our lab. You will continuously be updated by our scientists during the whole process.
The oocyte recipient\u2019s endometrium<\/strong> is getting prepared for the embryo transfer through hormone treatment. During this preparation period, the recipient will need to undergo two transvaginal ultrasounds and, possibly, hormone blood tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Egg donation, embryo transfer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fertilia<\/strong>\u2019s physicians perform embryo transfers under abdominal ultrasound guidance. An echogenic catheter is inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity, and the fertilised egg<\/strong> (embryo) or eggs (embryos) are placed 1-2 cm from the top of the cavity. Extra good quality embryos may be frozen for future use. A pregnancy test is performed 10 to 12 days after the embryo transfer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
